Piekļuves problēmas skārušas tādas mājaslapas kā “Amazon”, “Spotify”, “Reddit”, “BBC”, “CNN”, “The Guardian”, “Le Monde”, kā arī Lielbritānijas valdības mājaslapu “Gov.uk”.
Mēģinot piekļūt šīm mājaslapām, parādījās paziņojums “ Error 503 Service Unavailable”.
San Francisco based cloud-computing company Fastly says it has identified and is correcting the issue that knocked a number of major news, gov't and shopping websites off-line this morning. Sites affected included Amazon, Reddit, CNN, the New York Times, Spotify and CBS.

Tāpat nebija pieejami atsevišķi servisi, piemēram, "Twitter" platformā nedarbojās iespēja sarakstē lietot emocijzīmes (emoji).
Sākotnējā informācija liecina, ka piekļuves problēmas izraisīja traucējumi mākoņdatošanas servisa “Fastly” darbībā. Šis serviss nodrošina, ka interneta lietotājiem pieprasītās mājaslapas saturs ielādējas ātrāk.
Fastly, a cloud computing services provider, has been identified as the cause of the problem. The company runs an "edge cloud", which is designed to speed up loading times for websites, protect them from denial-of-service attacks, and help them deal with bursts of traffic.

Kā norāda “The Guardian” tehnoloģiju redaktors Alekss Hērns, interneta infrastruktūras centralizācija dažu lielo kompāniju rokās nozīmē, ka atsevišķu posmu iziešana no ierindas var izraisīt plašus interneta darbības traucējumus.
