According to information from internet sites dedicated to reporting on the conflict in Ukraine, a man killed fighting for the self-declared Lugansk People’s Republic may be of Latvian origin, reported LETA Friday.

The site psb4ukr.org, which maintains data on possible foreign mercenaries fighting in Ukraine, mentioned the possible name of the fallen fighter as Kushnir Rodion, whose social network name is said to be Deniss Morozov.

Morozov’s place of residence is listed as Riga, and he can be seen in photos posted on the social networks posing in Riga as well as in Donbass with weapons in his hands.

His name also appears in the site gruz200.net, which collects news on the fallen, injured, taken prisoner or exchanged prisoners among Russia’s soldiers and mercenaries.

A picture of the fighter has been circulating in the blogosphere identifying a volunteer from Latvia named Rodion who had joined the Vostok battalion and died of a bullet wound to the heart on January 21.
