The first channel of Latvian Television (Latvijas Televīzija) has become the most-watched TV channel in Latvia, having outpaced the commercial TV3 channel, according to TNS media research. It is a feat that had not been repeated for ten years until now.

In June the LTV1 channel viewership proportion was 10.6%, while TV3 was second with 10.5%. The third place was taken by LNT, which accrued 9.2% of total TV viewership.

Latvian Television is owned by the state joint-stock company “Latvia State Radio and Television Centre”. It also owns the Latvian Radio stations and, by extension, the LSM news portals in Latvian, Russian and English.
