A delegation of Latvian higher education institutions are off this week to three cities in India for a series of European Union-sponsored prospective-student fairs from now until December 5, the Latvian Embassy in India reported.

This year the fair will take place first in the capital Delhi, then move on December 3 to Bengaluru in South India and Kolkata December 5.

The delegation included representatives of the state Academic Information Center, the Riga Technical University (RTU), University of Latvia, “Turība” University, Rīga Stradiņš University and Latvian Academy of Sport Education.

The group of schools under diplomatic auspices jointly with Lithuanian and Estonian counterparts hosted an additional information day “Study in the Baltics” on Saturday in Delhi.

"Europe has always been one of the leading study and research destinations for international students," says the EHEF-India 2014 website, "offering both cutting-edge education and value for money. European Higher Education Institutions offer high academic standards, a great variety of international degree programs, advanced research facilities and a rich tapestry of diverse cultures, languages and societies. These attractions pull hundreds of thousands of foreign students to Europe each year for higher education and research."
