Baby white-tailed eagle spreads wings in its first flight

Take note – story published 8 years ago

Today dabasdati.lv, a portal that hosts candid webcam streams of rare birds nesting in Latvia, published a video that shows the first flight of the baby white-tailed eagle, named Durberts by popular vote. The flight took place on Saturday.

Although the flight involves some suspense as Durberts stumbles upon a fir-tree branch at first, the flight continues on a note of confidence - see for yourself.

Dabasdati.lv currently hosts two webcams where you can follow the life of a pair of black storks and a white-tailed eagle family.

Previously we showcased the mating rituals of the black storks as well as a dramatic scene where crows sneak up to destroy two of Dubert's would-be siblings, cracking two of the three eagles' eggs and getting away without a scratch.
