airBaltic crew confirmed over the limit

At the moment, the captain and crew of the airBaltic plane that were caught trying to fly with a blood alcohol count of more than 0.2 promiles on Saturday, are testifying in front of the Norwegian court.

They all admit to being either completely or partially guilty, according to NRK.

The crew were detained after failing a blood alcohol test, taken inside the plane.

According to Aftenposten, the first blood alcohol test showed the following results:

1.84 promiles for one stewardess
1.44 for the first officer
1.04 for the other stewardess
0.68 for the captain

A more precise test that followed painted a somewhat different picture:

1.2 promiles for the first officer
0.8 for the first stewardess
0.4 promiles for her colleague and the captain

The police thinks that there's a risk of flight by the crew, so they are asking for the court to sanction a two-week guarded detention.

Police reacted to a tip-off from a member of the public, which NRK specifies to be from the staff of the hotel in which the crew was staying.

Due to the crew's revels, the BT7843 charter flight being operated by airBaltic for tour company Star Tour from Oslo to Crete was postponed for five hours.

It had more than 100 passengers on board.
