Based on data from more than 90% of voting precincts, Harmony secured 23% of the vote followed by Unity (21%) the Greens and Farmers Alliance (19%) and National Alliance (16%).
Two new parties made it into parliament too, Latvia From the Heart (7%) and the Regional Alliance (6%).
That gives current coalition 56% of vote, with the likelihood that the Regional Alliance will join them in the coalition too to give them 62% after Prime Minister Laimdota Straujuma said Saturday night: "their position is not too far from Unity's - but we will have to discuss this with the other [existing] coalition partners."
The distribution of seats in the 100-member Saeima according to same data would be: Harmony 25, Unity 23, Greens and Farmers 21, National Alliance 17, Latvia from the Heart 7, Regional Alliance 7.
That means current coalition would have 61 seats, with the possible addition of 7 more seats from Regional Alliance to give 68 seats.
Full provisional results will be announced at 4pm Riga time.
