100 Days of Kučinskis

Take note – story published 7 years ago

Friday marks 100 days since Maris Kučinskis became Prime Minister of Latvia.

To mark the occasion, Kučinskis' government has released a "report card" on its main achievements during that period with each ministry listing what it has been up to since February.

"The main result is laying the foundations for successful future work" the statement says, anticipating upcoming action on education and healthcare reform, economic growth, national security and "promoting national identity."

"A united team, clearly defined tasks and analysis of results is the achievement of my Government during its first one hundred days," said Kučinskis himself.

His would be a government that avoided "empty promises," he promised.

The government action plan certainly does not lack ambition, listing no fewer than 286 tasks to be carried out by ministries and public bodies ahead of the next parliamentary elections in October 2018.
