Wizz Air to open flights to Bari, Reykjavik in summer

Hungarian low-costs carrier Wizz Air will start serving routes to Bari (Italy) and Reykjavik (Iceland) from the Latvian capital this summer, the company's Corporate Communications Manager Gabor Vasarhelyi told the press on February 21.

Bi-weekly flights on these routes will be launched on June 25.

Vasarhelyi said that Wizz Air has flown 1.8 million passengers from Riga and that this year the company will offer more than 580,000 seats on its flights from Riga.

Last year Wizz Air served a total of 476,200 passengers at Riga Airport, which was a 0.7% increase over 2015.

The Hungarian low-cost carrier has two airplanes at Riga Airport and employs 70 people.
