airBaltic to fly Riga-Madrid route

Latvian national airline airBaltic announced December 6 it will launch a new Riga-Madrid route next year.

The new link between the Latvian and Spanish capitals will begin on May 26 and will fly three times per week with a flight duration of just over 4 hours.

The airline's Wolfgang Reuss said the new Bombardier CS300 would be used on the route, though not exclusively, with some flights using a Boeing 737 instead.

“The first of our all-new CS300 aircraft has already joined the airBaltic fleet. We are happy to add Riga – Madrid to airBaltic's route map and deploy the new aircraft. The new route between the Latvian and Spanish capitals will offer new opportunities for both business and leisure travelers,” Reuss said.
