Latvian national airline airBaltic has been rated the world's most punctual by an industry report.

airBaltic was ranked number one globally in punctuality in 2014 by OAG analysts, who tracked the performance of a total of 43.5 million flight records.

Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic said: “We are a very proud team at airBaltic to have achieved this result.”

airBaltic is followed in the global ranking by Hawaiian Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Iberia and Norwegian Air Shuttle.

John Grant, executive vice president, OAG said: “Latvian airline airBaltic won the battle across all airlines with a rating of 94.9%, performing significantly better than the average.”

airBaltic was the first airline in Europe to introduce an on-time arrival guarantee in early 2009.

This insurance allows airBaltic passengers to make any delays less inconvenient.

airBaltic serves over 60 destinations from its home base in Riga, Latvia.
