The Latvian indie music label I Love You Records has been showcased in the Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA) award for unique European independent music labels less than 15 years old, reported LSM Tuesday.

IMPALA's ‘Five Under Fifteen’ award is part of a feature to put the spotlight on young independent music companies across Europe. Five labels from across Europe are named each month.

The first spotlight event took the form of a panel with all five labels followed by an awards ceremony during the Tallinn Music Week.

"The thing I really like about most of our bands is that I can't really compare them, which underlines the whole local scene," Bruno Roze, the head of I Love You records, said at the spotlight award event.

Other awardees included Porridge Bullet (Estonia), S1 Warsaw (Poland), Despotz Records (Sweden) and Soliti (Finland).

In addition to putting out indie music, I Love You also operates a bar in Rīga Old Town on Aldaru st. 9.

I Love You Records was founded in 2009 and among others has signed artists such as Alise Joste, Laika Suns, Momend, Mona Debo, Estonian acts like Iiris and Ewert and The Two Dragons, Sybil Vane, as well as Belarusian Super Besse.

IMPALA is a non-profit indie music label association uniting and supporting European music labels.
