Driving to Positivus? Try avoiding traffic jams

Take note – story published 7 years ago

From Friday to Sunday the Positivus festival will take place in Salacgrīva - the largest music festival in the Baltics. Accordingly, Latvia's State Police warns of traffic jams, saying people should depart for the festival early in order to make sure they don't miss any of their favorite acts.

"Be warned that there are roadworks on the road from Tūja to Limbaži, and a bridge is being repaired by Staicele following Aloja," police representative Imants Mitrošenko said.

"If you drive through Mazsalaca, the time spent will be about the same if you were standing in traffic jams," he said.

"Mostly traffic jams start at Svētciems. I would suggest those not driving to the festival depart for Estonia on Thursday already," said Mitrošenko.

The police also advise that attendees shouldn't take valuables to the festival, should not use drugs and should drink alcohol in moderation to ensure everyone has a good time.

Thousands of visitors are expected from the Baltic states and beyond for Positivus, which has developed a growing international reputation.
